St. Nicholas School in Chattanooga, TN, is accepting resumes for Early Childhood and Elementary Assistant Teachers to support teachers in the classroom. St. Nicholas School is a vibrant leader in independent education in the Chattanooga metropolitan region. Grounded in the Episcopal faith, St. Nicholas educates students with a comprehensive emphasis on academic, physical, social-emotional, creative and intellectual development. St. Nicholas School seeks a vibrant/dynamic educator for the 2026-2027 school year. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about education. Requirements

• Degree in Elementary, or Early Childhood, Education (preferred)
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to professional growth, personal development, and social-emotional learning
• Experience with differentiated instruction and an appreciation of each child as an individual with diverse needs

Areas of Responsibility:

• St Nicholas’ Assistant Teachers will:
• Help plan, supervise, and implement a challenging and developmentally appropriate program in accordance with the educational philosophy and policies of St Nicholas School, the curriculum’s scope and sequence, and the prescribed student objectives
• Help create a safe and engaging classroom community and differentiate for students as needed by employing a variety of instructional strategies and materials supported by best educational practices to enhance creative teaching/learning
• Assist in maintaining a clean, attractive, well-ordered classroom
• Help assess the learning of students frequently and analyze the data to drive instruction, teaching /learning
• Assist in maintaining current and accurate attendance records and assessment data to meet the demand for a comprehensive knowledge of each student’s progress
• Maintain open, supportive, and consistent communication with parents and administration
• Develop and maintain rapport with students, parents, and staff to promote a positive learning environment
• Attend all staff meetings, required school events, parent/teacher conferences, professional development days, and orientations/in-service
