Ideal candidates will have experience in a school setting (elementary experience preferred) and a genuine love for children. Teachers should possess a deep understanding of differentiated instruction, flexibility, and proficiency with current technology. They should also demonstrate collaboration, knowledge of child development, a commitment to lifelong learning, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Above all, candidates must exhibit a true passion for working with young children and teaching through a Biblical worldview that emphasizes our relationship with our Creator.

Teachers are ten-month employees who report directly to the Head of School.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Math to 4th-grade students
  • Prepare materials and classrooms to foster intentional learning experiences.
  • Work with the team to help create and implement a technology curriculum for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders
  • Work with the team to develop study skills and executive function curriculum for 4th & 5th graders
  • This position will be responsible for a 4th-grade homeroom
  • The 4/5th grade teacher will be a leader of a House in our House system
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet students’ diverse needs and interests.
  • Plan and conduct balanced instructional programs that encourage observation, questioning, and investigation.
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects to students and parents.
  • Assign and grade classwork and homework; ensure grades are posted in FACTS.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators to address academic or behavioral concerns.
  • Meet with parents periodically to discuss students’ progress.
  • Enforce school policies and rules governing student behavior and the implementation of the school behavior plan
  • Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Evidence of a born-again Christian faith and active involvement in a local Christian fellowship. Teachers must also sign and affirm the school’s Statement of Faith
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferably in education).
  • Strong communication skills to foster positive relationships with parents and guardians.
  • The desire and ability to work well in a team environment
