St. Andrew's-Sewanee School seeks a Chaplain with a commitment to boarding and day school education in an Episcopal environment that cultivates creativity, celebrates individuality, rejoices in the natural world, and values openness, trust, and forgiveness. This is 12-month, fulltime position and reports to the Head of School.
The Chaplain’s primary responsibility is for the oversight of the spiritual life of the school.

As with all faculty members, the Chaplain serves as a student advisor, leads weekend activities, provides weekend and evening campus supervision, and helps plan and execute class trips, retreats, and special events throughout the year. Based on the individual’s talents, interests, and gifts, responsibilities may also include leading afternoon programs (PEAK) and/or sponsoring student clubs.
Qualifications – Applicants must be ordained as priests in the Episcopal Church. Candidates will be expected to have an undergraduate and/or advanced degree and at least three years of experience in working with adolescents. A degree or experience in adolescent counseling is preferred as is experience in working or living in a boarding school setting.
Compensation – Salary is dependent on education and experience. Benefits include a tuition remission plan, health and dental insurance, worker’s compensation, short-term and long-term disability, group life insurance, a retirement plan, and eligibility for grants for professional enrichment and continuing education.
