Roberts Academy at Vanderbilt University is a new elementary school for students with dyslexia. As a part of Vanderbilt University and Peabody College, educators at Roberts Academy have a unique opportunity to work in collaboration with cutting edge researchers, bringing those evidence-based best practices to life in the classroom. For the 2026-2027 school year, the Academy will be moving into a brand new 60,000 sq. ft. school building located at the corner of Music Row and Edgehill Ave, adjacent to the Peabody campus. 

The Homeroom Teacher provides direct supervision of and instruction to students in whole-class (up to approx. 12 students) and small-group settings. Homeroom Teachers will instruct a 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade homeroom in a whole class setting (up to 12 students) and instruct students in small groups (2-4 students) as well, implementing the curricula and programs of the school. Small class sizes allow the teacher at RA to provide highly individualized instruction tailored to the needs of each learner. Teachers will be responsible for assessing student performance, making data-informed decisions about instruction, and contributing to/writing student goals and reports.
