DESCRIPTION
We are looking to hire a Primary Grades General Educator for our K-5 Lower School. Our Mission is to be a Christian, authentic, dynamic school equipping students to be global leaders. The Nashville Christian School Teacher is a Christian professional demonstrating Christ’s love while helping students realize and pursue their full potential – spiritually, intellectually, physically, and socially. OBJECTIVES
- The teacher has a relationship with the Lord that includes an active membership in a local church. Accordingly, each teacher must be morally upright in public and personal life.
- The teacher will support and teach the core beliefs held by the school. The teacher will lead in dress, conduct, attitude, and intellectual pursuit.
- The teacher will maintain a classroom environment that models Christ-like interaction and positively promotes student development while inspiring a love of learning. The teacher understands that as ambassadors for Christ, students are his or her first ministry.
- The teacher will use innovative teaching methods, implementing critical thinking strategies. Lessons will contain hands-on, interactive activities incorporating technology using both iPads, laptops, and the Promethean Board. Instruction and assessment will be differentiated to challenge each student appropriately. The teacher will conscientiously provide accommodations to students with identified learning challenges in consultation with the school’s learning specialist.
- The teacher is responsible for finding ways to educate all children, and it is the teacher’s duty to participate in professional development activities that foster this responsibility. Practices such as differentiated instruction, data-driven instruction, and identifying areas of weakness in students are crucial to developing the quality of classroom instruction.
- The teacher will consistently communicate expectations and progress to students and parents. The teacher will incorporate a variety of methods to communicate, including conferences, phone calls, and email. The teacher will proficiently use Renweb as a tool to track attendance, document behavior, and post lesson plans and grades.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (required)

SCHEDULE
This is the equivalent of a full-time, exempt position, which works Monday-Friday from 7:15 AM - 3:15 PM with a 30-minute lunch break as commensurate with the hours the school is open. Time off shall coincide with the NCS teacher schedule and school holidays.
