The Webb School seeks an experienced professional to join its Alumni and Development Office as a Development Officer. Join a high-performing team that has consistently exceeded fundraising goals for eight consecutive years, including record-breaking results for the past three. The ideal candidate will bring experience in fundraising, volunteer management, sales, and/or relationship building. A minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience—ideally in an educational or nonprofit setting—is preferred.

Position Summary:

The Development Officer is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors and prospects capable of making leadership-level gifts to The Webb School. The primary goal is to retain and grow the number of leadership-level donors while building a robust pipeline for major gift opportunities. This position collaborates closely with the Alumni & Development team and engages stakeholders across all constituencies. The Development Officer reports to the Associate Director of Alumni & Development.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of 250–300 prospects, with a focus on Webb Fund solicitations in the $1,870–$15,000 range.
  • Complete 100–125 face-to-face solicitations annually.
  • Travel extensively to meet donors and prospects (30–40 nights per year).
  • Serve as a key liaison for external relations and create meaningful engagement opportunities.
  • Develop and implement grant writing strategies and cultivate annual corporate sponsorships.
  • Assist in identifying prospects for major and planned gift opportunities.
  • Track fundraising progress and ensure accurate, up-to-date donor records.
  • Support and attend donor and alumni events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising, volunteer management, sales, or relationship building.
  • Strategic, creative thinker with strong planning skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable communicating with a wide range of constituents, including alumni, donors, parents, and business leaders.

This is a 12 month, full-time position and is eligible for full benefits.
