For the 2025-2026 academic year, Webb School of Knoxville seeks an innovative, experienced social studies instructor for students in grades 9-12. The successful candidate will have experience teaching both Ancient World History (first humans to 1300 CE) and Modern World History (1200 to the present). In addition, interest in teaching economics and/or United States History in the future will be beneficial.  

He or she must be adept in the instruction of writing and appreciate the role that document analysis and critical thinking have in a robust social studies curriculum as well as be dynamic in his/her instructional approach, skilled in differentiation, and capable of collaborating with peers across disciplines. Additionally, he or she must be knowledgeable in inquiry and project-based pedagogy, and able to meet the needs of all learners.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are vital as relationships are the cornerstone to student success and this individual must be able to build strong, trusting relationships with all community stakeholders; students, colleagues, and parents.
