Interventionist

Episcopal School of Nashville (ESN) seeks a dedicated and student-focused Interventionist to provide targeted academic support to students in need of additional assistance. The Interventionist will work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and support staff to develop and implement effective interventions that help students achieve academic success.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Academic Support & Intervention:

• Identify students requiring additional academic support through assessments, teacher recommendations, and student performance data.
• Develop and implement individualized or small-group intervention strategies to support student growth in literacy, mathematics, or other areas as needed.
• Utilize evidence-based instructional practices to address learning gaps and reinforce core academic skills.
• Monitor and track student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary to ensure effectiveness.
• Provide push-in or pull-out support in collaboration with classroom teachers.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Work closely with teachers to align intervention strategies with classroom instruction.
• Maintain open and ongoing communication with teachers, administrators, and parents regarding student progress and needs.
• Participate in team meetings to review student data and adjust instructional approaches accordingly.
• Provide professional development and instructional strategies to support faculty in differentiating instruction.

Data Collection & Progress Monitoring:

• Administer and analyze formative and summative assessments to track student progress.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and intervention outcomes.
• Use data to drive decision-making and modify intervention plans as needed.
• Prepare reports and documentation for student support team meetings and parent conferences.

Student Development & Support:

• Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that builds student confidence and motivation.
• Utilize various instructional methods and tools, including technology, to engage students in the learning process.
• Support students' social-emotional learning as it relates to their academic growth.
• Provide strategies and resources to help students develop independent learning skills.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in education, special education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Teaching certification with an emphasis on intervention, reading, or special education preferred.
• Experience working with students who require academic intervention or individualized support.
• Strong knowledge of research-based intervention strategies and instructional techniques.
• Ability to analyze student data and apply it to intervention planning.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers, administrators, and families.
• Proficiency in using technology for instruction and student progress monitoring.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and engage with students throughout the school day.
• Capability to lift/move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Use of technology, including computers, tablets, and classroom equipment.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time position, reporting to the Director of Student and Faculty Success. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
