The Harpeth Hall School seeks a full time upper school history and social sciences teacher. The candidate should be a dynamic and collaborative teacher of history who is qualified to teach a wide range of upper school social science courses. The current list of upper school history offerings are: World Cultures (9th), AP and on level History of the Modern World (10th), AP and on level US History (11th), AP European History (12th), AP US Government and Politics (11th and 12th), AP Art History (11th and 12th), Economics (11th and 12th), Democracy and Leadership (10th, 11th, and 12th), and Political Philosophy (10th, 11th, and 12th).
The ideal applicant is an experienced teacher who has an enthusiasm for working with high school students in an all-girls environment, a commitment to innovative pedagogy, and excellent writing and communication skills. A Master’s degree and teaching experience at either the high school or university level are preferred. The upper school History and Social Sciences Department works closely as a team to maintain and ensure a strong social science curriculum. This position begins August 1, 2025.
