Position Description
The Receptionist/Morning Care manages the main entrance from the front desk. This
position is responsible for welcoming everyone into the building and managing the
lobby.

Primary Responsibilities
● Answers phone calls in pleasant, informed manner
● Welcomes visitors and require sign-in and identification
● Manages the presentation of the school lobby and ensure space is clean, orderly, and presentable
● Provides information regarding school life to parents and students
● Is knowledgeable about life of school and community
● Checks voicemail messages on routine basis and distribute accordingly
● Receives and distributes miscellaneous materials such as school supplies/make-up work/lost and found items, etc.
● Provides a positive, welcoming, and caring climate in the front lobby
● Works closely with administration regarding care of students, especially in emergencies
● Makes coffee for teacher workroom each day
● Organizes and maintains school used uniforms as well as lost and found items
● Sorts and distributes incoming mail after following established procedures
● Receives deliveries from outside services, i.e.-UPS, FedEx, etc.
● Relays messages from parents to students and teachers
● Demonstrates strong organizational skills, as well as written and oral communication skills
● Prints and laminates materials for teachers on an as needed basis and as directed by the Director of School Operations
● Assists substitutes with clocking in and out
● Supervises students in Morning Care 7:00-7:30 am
● Supervises students on duty at Post Office and General Store
● Checks students in and out
● Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
● High School Graduate (GED)
● Excellent communication skills
● Prompt and reliable
● Must possess sensitivity to and maintain confidential information
● Ability and willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationship with all constituents
● Have a pleasant and collegial approach to work and, ideally, a sense of humor
● Proficient in technology

Work Schedule:  12 months from 7:00 am – 4:00 pm
